PAINTING THE STILL LIFE WITH WATERCOLOR - six consecutive Tuesday mornings from 9:30 to 12:00, January 20th - February 24th. 2026

Hello everyone,

This is a small class, focusing on mastering the art of watercolor painting, with lots of individual instruction so it's perfect for students at every level of experience, including beginners. During these six classes we will focus on painting the still life. The class is designed for adults, however teens are also welcome and occasionally I have home-schoolers attend.

The class will meet six Tuesday mornings from 9:30 to 12:00 at the Lihue Public Library conference room, starting on January 20th through February 24th, 2026. Space is limited and enrollment will be on a first-come-first-served basis. Your space will be reserved upon receipt of your tuition payment. Tuition is $360 plus tax.

Students will bring their own art materials. I will send you a suggested supply list when you enroll. The conference room is very comfortable and has a sink, air conditioning, wi-fi and ample parking.

Some of the topics we will cover will be: 

• How to creatively interpret a photograph in a creative manner.
• How to improve your drawing and observational skills, while developing your own handwriting,
• How to interpret color expressively, using a "split primary" palette.
• How to use the beautiful, playful medium of watercolor.
• How to honor and develop your own personal style.
